If you’ve met us out and about, you probably know we are gypsies at heart—we live a dynamic and free lifestyle. On the road, moving with the colourful and chaotic heartbeat of our community, we feel most at home. Our energy and offerings are centred throughout central Tāmaki Makaurau, flowing up the motu to Northland (Aotearoa, Te Ika-a-Māui). We love living outdoors, and the warmer climate suits our sunny souls. The culture of the North is deeply rooted in whanaungatanga. It feels slow, grounded, and full of heart. Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, the sunny North is our sanctuary—Moana, our Mother, our medicine.

We are the weavers, the dreamers, the truth seekers. We live outside the bounds of society while still playing our part within the wider community. We walk our walk, dance our dance—with honour and love for the Earth, for the Great Mother, for the organic life-force that flows through all.

Seasonal Flow:

Spring sees us in the garden, working hard to plant, tend, and nurture kai and medicine for the summer ahead. We’re still steady with markets in spring, and the apothecary is a hive preparing for the sunny festive season. Spring is a wild burst of creative energy, of possibility and hope, as the days lengthen and warm.

Summer, we are on the road—travelling from festival to gathering, to festival. Our offerings have expanded and matured. 2025 saw us birthing, co-creating, and facilitating an entire zone at EarthBeat Festival. The Inner Earth was a profound experience for us and our community of creatives. With only a short time to prepare, we dream-wove this nourishing space into reality—an ode to the old worlds, to our ancestors, to craftsmanship and slowness, to connection with the earth and the unseen ones who dwell here.

Our hearts burst open, witnessing our dream come to life. The space was full of people resting, connecting, and creating. We’re now brewing and distilling even greater dreamweaves for the summer ahead—listening for the Great Mother's call to restore festivals and gatherings to their traditional, ancient roots.

Autumn is transformational. We slow down, rest, and integrate the summer that’s been. We ground ourselves and prepare for winter—harvesting, preserving, decluttering, and tending to both our land and our inner worlds. With such expansive, full summers, autumn becomes a time of healing and detoxing, of returning balance. We slowly return to our rhythms at the markets, tending to the business, our accounts, and all those practical things.

Winter, we nest. We create. We tinker in our spaces, building and improving. Dreaming into summer. Applying for festivals, planning, scheming. We take stock and solidify our foundations. We go slow. We nourish our bodies and souls. We follow the rhythm—attending winter markets, connecting with our wider community, customers, and friends.

MARKETS WE LOVE

🔗 Central Flea

Central Flea is a wild hub of secondhand treasures—a vibrant heartbeat in central Auckland (Balmoral), hosted by the legendary Junk & Disorderly. I started Motherose Herbals here in spring 2023 alongside a beautiful collective of friends. We love this market; it is our winter home base.

Every Sunday in summer, fortnightly in winter.

🔗 Puhoi Village Market

Held on the first Sunday of each month. This magical village and its market have become so close to our hearts. We love the strength of the women behind it, upholding earth-based, heart-centered values.

🔗 Albany Community Market

First Saturday of the month, 10am–2pm

Founded on values of freedom and sovereignty, this little market is full of magic.

🔗 Waipu Street Market

Held every long weekend, this is a big event with an incredible market vibe and a wonderful community of stallholders and browsers.

COLLABORATIONS : Lets weave together
If you like our kaupapa and would like to see Motherose at your event, or would like to collaborate with our collective of creatives (those friendly faces that brought the Inner Earth together), please reach out. We look forward to further expanding our horizons in service of this earth, in remebering of how to walk here gently in harmony with all life.
